Ken Nichols O’Keefe Animal Planet’s ‘Wild Rescues’ – January 2000

Ken Nichols O’Keefe is featured for the marine conservation work he headed as the owner of a dive business in Hawaii called ‘Deep Ecology’. Ken pioneered endangered Green Sea Turtle Rescues and personally rescued nearly 50 turtles in the space of just 2 and a half years. These rescues, along with beach clean-ups, Ghost Net recoveries and community activism and education ultimately lead the to the formation of a legitimate marine sanctuary on Oahu’s North Shore, Deep Ecology’s own backyard.
