Does anthropocentrism include the belief that Humans are equals to nature instead of being inferior to nature?

If it is really so arrogant and immoral for me to believe that Humans are equally as important as nature instead of being inferior to it, then so be it.

help about Social Disorganization theory ?

Hey,
So I’m supposed to be writing an essay about Social Disorganization theory and its basic tenets and development from Shaw/McKay and Park’s Human Ecology, but I’m really confused about all of it. Like, I get what it’s saying, but not how it developed. Anywaay, if someone would be willing to explain it to me via msn or chat or email or anything I’d really really appreciate it. Like, immensly. Or if you could just give me some info about how Park’s theories link into it on here ?. Thanks for your help!! I promise someday I’ll repay the favour icon biggrin help about Social Disorganization theory ?

Why is science generally still primitive?

There are a lot of things like social sciences that should be viewed as a natural science and not an art, social science is very close to biology, evolution, and ecology. After all, we are still animals. and nature is not politically correct.

UC Berkeley? UC San Diego? UC Santa Barbara?

Hi there! I’m a California community college student looking into transferring to a university in 2 years. I’ve just begun my studies as a freshman, but I already know that I would like to major in something that has an environmental focus. Right now I’m looking into the following:

UC Berkeley:
-Conservation and Resource Studies, BS
-Molecular Environmental Biology, BS
-Forestry and Natural Resources, BS

UC San Diego:
-Ecology, Behavior and Evolution, BS
-Environmental Systems: Ecology, Behavior and Evolution, BS

UC Santa Barbara:
-Ecology and Evolution, BS
-Environmental Studies, BA

I’ve lived in California long enough to know that most people are quick to say that Berkeley is the obvious answer, but I would prefer to learn more about the pros and cons of each school’s specified major. Another aspect that people tell me to look into is campus life. Countless times I’ve had people tell me that Berkeley is for hippies and extreme intellectuals, that UCSD is for anti-social nerds, and that UCSB is for party people. While I disregard these comments to a reasonable extent, I would like to know what real grads from these schools have to say about their alma maters. Personally, I just want to go to a school that is sociable enough to make me feel welcomed, but serious enough to be academically stimulating. So…

In your opinion, which school would be best for me and the mentioned majors? If you attend/attended these schools and have something great to say about them, please help me out and tell me what you think! Or if you attend/attended a university that seems to have a great environmental major, please feel free to add your comments as well! Thank you so much!
